Ironman 70.3 Weymouth for FORCE

1 in 2 of us are affected by cancer, I sat so oblivious that It would never hit me or my family. How wrong was I?

At the end of last year after my Mum completed an NHS bowel cancer screening FIT test and we were told the devastating news that she has Bowel Cancer. This came as a massive shock to us as there had been no previous symptoms!

The outcome may not be brilliant for us as a family and Mum has already undergone her first surgery and 2 further stays in hospital. We have been informed by the oncologists that they are treating the cancer as palliative, but Mum is determined to fight the awful disease and spend as much time with us as a family as she can!

We have been receiving support from Devon’s local Cancer Charity, FORCE. The support as a family we have had from Force has been amazing! They have helped my mum every step of the way and her quality if life would be much worse without them! They help from coffee mornings to a shoulder to cry of for her and us as her family.

They have helped us and my Mum every step of the way, and I genuinely believe that she and every other person in her position would have a much worse quality of life without their support!

unfortunately most of us will know someone who has been affected by cancer in some way . This is my way to help an amazing charity to continue to provide a valuable service not only to the person diagnosed but also to their support network as cancer does affect all!

So I’ve lost my mind and shall be doing this in honour of my amazing Mum and to raise money and some awareness of the fantastic work that Force Cancer Charity do!

Please help me out because iv e clearly lost my mind, by sharing donating or both I would be so grateful for whatever support you can give me to help give back to this amazing charity that provide such a valuable service that just is not recognised enough.
