Iron Trust Share Builder

Donation protected
The Iron Trust is raising money to purchase shares in Scunthorpe United Football Club via a Share Builder scheme.

The Share Builder scheme enables fans to donate money to the Trust towards a target of £25,000, which will be converted into 1250 shares. This will add to the Trust’s current level of shareholding.

The Trust is delighted to confirm that SUFC have pledged £25,000 worth of shares to the Trust after a joint negotiation and have agreed a partnership to promote and support this initiative. The Share Builder scheme will run until the end of November.

Chair and co-owner of Scunthorpe United, Michelle Harness said: “Following a number of positive and constructive meetings with the Iron Trust over recent weeks, I am pleased to have received a pledge from the Iron Trust to purchase £25,000 of my shareholding at the club, of which the payment for these share will go into club funds. We wish them success with this scheme over the next couple of months and will assist the Iron Trust in the promotion of this until its conclusion.”

The Trust wrote to members on 24 July to canvass opinion on the Share Builder initiative, to which the Trust received strong support.

Therefore, the Trust agreed with the Scunthorpe United board a target of £25,000 worth of shares to be raised by the end of November was an advantageous outcome for all parties. Hence the agreement by members of the Iron Trust board who met on 20 August and choose Gofundme as the platform to use for fundraising.

The Iron Trust Share Builder scheme is open to all fans of Scunthorpe United, whether you are a member or not, and all businesses and parties who support SUFC.

The deadline set for the Share Builder scheme is Sunday 30 November 2025.

Clarification on share allocation
Shares purchased by the Trust from monies raised by this Share Builder will come from Michelle Harness's share holding.

At the end of this initiative, all shares purchased will be owned exclusively by the Iron Trust.
