I'd like to introduce you to my Uncle Bob & Aunt Linda, two of the most interesting people the world has ever known. My Uncle was larger than life until a brain bleed hampered his ability to do the things he loved and sadly after more than a decade confined to his home, he passed away on October 11th, 2016.
Irish Bob Connelly was a Chicago musician, writer, cinema connoisseur entertainer, actor, and friend to all the lost 4 legged friends he and his wife Linda have rescued from the cold Chicago Streets. He was born on the East Coast, attended Fordham Univeristy, worked on the West Coast, and made a home in Chicago. Uncle Bob's work spans 6 decades, including performances with Louis Armstrong, a record in the Smithsonian Folkways collection, a near-definitive curation of silent films with "The Silents: Silent Feature Films, 1910-36," a flair for entertaining that was unparalleled, and a voice that could bring the house down.
But life changed when a brain bleed left Uncle Bob without the use of his legs and unable to do all the things that made him so special. Bob left us all with a richness of memories that will live in our hearts but unfortunately Bob's illness put their financial condition in critical condition. She is facing financial ruin, losing the home she shared with Uncle Bob and forced to sell all the things that remind her of the man who inspired me to pursue a career in media.
Along the road of life, Uncle Bob collected 5 lifetimes of memories and memorabilia, but all that is in jeopardy as Aunt Linda faces financial trouble, but I hope you can help. I hope to raise enough money to keep Aunt Linda surrounded by the things that reminder of Uncle Bob and in the house that hosted so many great people & even greater stories. The money raised here will be used to pay off any debts Aunt Linda has accrued and any monies beyond that will be used to remember a man that was bigger than life. Please help Linda keep her home and pay her bills. The loss of the love of her life is loss enough.
