Irish Longboard Surfing Team World games

Hi, My Name is Ruby Knox and I've been selected for the Irish longboard team this year, 2023. I'm planning to travel with the team to El Salvador on the 1st of May to repersent Ireland. I also hope to travel to Portugal in July for Euros.

Surfing. It's what guides me through, gives me: focus, happiness, freedom, drive, frustration, accomplishment and so much passion. I never expected to be a longboarder, But how could I not with the gracefulness of every step, the feeling of flying while noseriding, the strength and power you feel from being able to move such a big board, being able to get wave after wave with ease, never needing to stop and always smiling.

I'm so grateful and honored for the opportunity to be able to represent my country for longboarding, and even more proud to be 1 of two, of the first women to represent Ireland at the world longboard champions. It's amazing to see the change and growing community of women in the water, in Ireland and I hope to help inspire younger generations of women to continue to push the norm and see that surfing is for everyone, and comes in many shapes and forms.
