My grandmother passed away on the 21st May due to Renal problems, she spent time in Blanchardstown hospital, in and out every few weeks but the last time she was admitted and spent 17 weeks there that time and passed away in there. The staff of the hospital were very good to her and kept her hopes up and were hoping to get her well and home but eventually her kidneys decided not to function any more and she passed away peacefully, but it has been hard on our family to see her go and it was very hard on the hospital staff because they had now become part of her family. So I have decided to do this run in November in Remembrance of my Grandmother and the hospital staff that looked after her and raise money for the Kidney Association to help other people in need of Renal care.
