Our sunshine Iris Joan (Wegmann) Merfeld entered heaven on Saturday morning, September 18, 2021.  She died at the young age of 36 after tragically falling off of the bluffs overlooking her home town of Bellevue, Iowa and the mighty Mississippi River.  She was a mother, wife, sister, daughter, granddaughter, and friend.  

 

Iris loved being a mother to Zoey (age 13) and Aubrey (age 6). She was very proud of her two girls and the women they are becoming. She took time to teach them the importance of looking on the bright side, the value of hard work, the rewards that come with it, and the significance of being an inspiration to those around us.

 

Iris also loved being a wife. She was thrilled being married to Tom, her best friend. Tom was her rock and a rock to her entire family.
