After an emergency doctors appointment the day before, where my wife was told our daughter had a "viral" infection and growing pains, she still appeared unwell. She had yellowing of the eyes lethargy and a lump in her neck. We attended North Tees urgent care on Saturday morning, where initially TB or glandular fever were suspected. A blood test and chest x-ray where performed. That started a whirlwind of events. We where transported by ambulance to the RVI on Sunday. Initially leukemia was suspected, however following another x-ray, ct scan, ultrasound and further bloods it was confirmed that our Beautiful daughter had neuroblastoma, an aggressive form of childhood cancer. She has tumours in her neck, chest and abdomen and following a bone marrow retrieval, also her bones and marrow.
