Help Iris, an 11 year old BMX racer compete at the Worlds

Donation protected
Iris Hajda is an aspiring young athlete, who has been competing in regional and national BMX racing for the last 4 years. For the last 2 years running, she has been ranked national number one and having secured another win at the British Championships over the August bank holiday weekend is also the British champion for the second time.

Iris began international competition last year, travelling to France for the European Championships. She made the final, however sadly sustained a crash resulting in a broken collarbone.

Demonstrating her grit and determination that has propelled her success, she put all her efforts into her recovery and 4 weeks later competed in Glasgow in the World Championships where she became World Number 8.

This year, she travelled to South Carolina for the World Championships, however fell in her semi final, ending her race day. She then competed in Verona, Italy at the European Championships and came 3rd.

Sadly, due to a change in our home and financial circumstances it is impossible for me as her parent to solo fund her trip to Copenhagen.

Therefore, we are looking for support for Iris to race at the World Championships in Copenhagen, Denmark. We are looking to raise £1,000 in total which will go towards entry fees, race shirt, camping pitch fees and travel. We have already been very lucky in securing a complimentary crossing from Dover to Calais from DFDS Ferries and a local motorhome home hire company has also agreed to sponsor her journey and have provided us with a motorhome at a discounted price. We will be vlogging the journey on social media channels. Iris herself has a reasonable instagram following and she rides for Pure Bikes Co which has an instagram following of over 15K.

Publicity:
BMX as a sport is currently gaining more recognition with both a gold and silver medal in Tokyo 2020 and is one of the most exciting cycling disciplines. National and international races are now streamed live on You Tube or the dedicated UEC or UCI cycling channels.

As well as her instagram Iris was also featured on BBC sport last year.
