Last night, we said goodbye to our sweet Irie — our nearly 12-year-old Lab mix and beloved family member. Irie was more than a dog. He was our shadow, our comforter, our constant. Making the decision to let him go was one of the hardest things we’ve ever faced, but we knew he deserved to pass peacefully, with dignity and love.

We brought Irie to DoveLewis Emergency Animal Hospital when his condition worsened. The compassionate staff walked us through every step, and we were able to stay by his side until the very end. The cost of his care and cremation came to $1,051, which we paid in full — using the money we had set aside for this month’s mortgage.

We are devastated emotionally and now facing an immediate financial strain. We never imagined we’d be in a position to ask for help, but here we are, doing just that.
