Dear family and friends,

I'm making this GoFund me in support of my dear friend, Irene Valdez. In December of 2024, at just 30 years old, Irene faced life changing news that no 30 year old wants to hear. Irene was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer. Irene just completed 16 rounds of chemo with incredible strength and resilience. Now, as she faces multiple upcoming surgeries as the next step in her cancer journey, I want to rally around her and show her she’s not alone. This will require her to take time off from work to let her body heal. As you can imagine this has been a hard and long journey that requires a lot of strength and support from Irene's husband, friends and family. Throughout chemo Irene has shown her strength and resilience with a smile on her face and a positive outlook.

As Irene’s breastie and oncology social worker my goal is to raise $5,000 to help ensure that Irene can focus on her recovery by her husbands side. This money will go directly to helping cover any medical copays, ongoing fertility preservation and any additional personal expenses she might have due to being out of work.

Irene is a loving wife, sister, daughter and friend who is always quick to help others in need without hesitation. Throughout this journey Irene has kept a great outlook on her diagnosis and has continued to find the silver lining in every situation. Every donation, no matter how big or small, is a step toward her recovery and peace of mind.
