Irene DeSimone Renaud

On Thursday, January 3rd, Irene fell at home, fracturing her upper cervical spine causing acute nerve damage.  She currently has limited mobility and lack of sensation in both her arms and legs.

Irene will have Anterior Cervical Discectomy and Fusion (ACDF) surgery on Monday, January 7th to stabilize her spine and hopefully correct the pain and lack of movement throughout her body.  She will then be going to Spaulding Rehab in Boston.  Her recovery and rehabilitation is expected to take at least 3 months.

After moving to the North Shore in 1996, and starting a family, Irene has been working in the health and fitness industry for 20+ years. Irene has touched so many people’s lives and has always inspired others to be the best they can. Irene's goal has always been to make others feel happy, inspired, and ready for anything! Her personal mantra towards fitness and well-being is simple: "Just show up!" and her friends & clients do!

The road to recovery will be long and challenging. If you know Irene, you know she is always moving, always active. Her recovery will undoubtedly be challenging and full of uncertainty, but she is in great spirits and has so many people by her side. Since there is no timetable for her recovery, the return to her normal work life is unpredictable. Anything that you can donate would be greatly appreciated to relieve the financial pressures of surgery, rehabilitation and recovery over the next few months.
