I am helping a single mother, Irene who came from central america to seek complex medical care for her child born with gastroschisis (birth defect that causes a baby's intestines to develop outside of the body) . She also has a wonderful 12 yo that has been like a second mother to her young sister. Irene is new to this country and is currently in the United States while her baby gets multiple major staged surgeries. Due to this, she is unable to work and provide for herself and family as she has to stay and care for her delicate baby. This fund is meant to help her cover for expenses, such as housing, food, transportation, while she takes care of her baby during this critical time in their lives.

Unfortunately, due to unstable housing, she has not qualified for several foundations. She is motivated to learn english and find permanent work to continue to help her family.
