On the evening of December 11th Irelyn suffered second degree burns covering 26% of her body.  She was rushed to Kosair Children's Hospital by ambulance and from there she was transported to Shriner's Children's Hospital in Cincinnati via helicopter.  She was able to come home on December 20th but returned to Cincinnati on December 27th for surgery on the 28th and 29th and will need additional surgeries in the future as well.  The outpouring of love and support for Irelyn and her family has been amazing.  They have been covered in prayer throughout this journey.  There are countless people who have expressed an interest in helping this family.  

I approached Ethan and Jami asking for their blessing to facilitate a way for those who would like to help with the medical bills.  Jami's response was, "I think that would be a wondeful blessing.  The hospital is a not for profit hospital and they do not expect their families to pay in full.  I would love to be able to pay them for their wonderful services."  

This family is already enduring an incredible amount of stress as Irelyn heals and they have been praising God thoughout this time and clinging to Him for their strength.  Shriner's may be a not for profit hospital but just the ambulance ride, care that Irelyn received at Kosair and helicopter ride could be a heavy financial burden.  My hope is that by all of us joining together and contributing, Ethan and Jami will not be burdened by any bills related to this accident.
