Ireland to California - Anja's treatment story

Please help my daughter!

We are trying to get her final round of treatments for her scoliosis and she needs to travel from Ireland to California in the next 2 months.

You see, her treatment should have ended in 2019, but she couldn't travel to her final appointment so she has been wearing a full-body brace for 2 additional years. She has matured from a 15-year-old to a 17-year-old, but her brace hasn't been adjusted in those two years. It is now extremely uncomfortable for her, but she has no alternative but to wear it until she can get a new brace.

Our story is not unusual, but our daughter is suffering and this is unbearable for us. We implore you if you can spare anything, to help us out. We need to pay for flights, accommodation, and medical expenses as well, including the cost of a new brace. We will also have transportation daily to the clinic and other incidentals so we are hoping to raise this money before we travel on January 9th.

Anja will be traveling with me for 10 days. 2 days early to adjust to the time difference and settle in (she lives with autism so this is very important) then 5 days at the clinic and one extra day just in case the new brace isn't ready until late on Friday afternoon. She will be doing intensive therapy for 8 hours every day she is at the clinic, and she will be keeping up with homework because her schooling is online as well as onsite.

My daughter is amazing. She is kind, generous, intelligent, and helpful. She always thinks of others first, and her love of baking has come from her delight in seeing people enjoy her gifts of cookies and cakes. Anja has brought joy to our lives and we are so grateful to have her as a part of our family. She deserves the best and I pray to God we can get her the treatment she needs. Her brace is chaffing her hips, she is having difficulty eating because her stomach is being compressed and she never complains. She just copes. You would never believe this young woman had a struggle in her life.

Please be her angel and send her to California so she can stop suffering so much, she can get her adult-sized brace and she can start her final year of school (2022-23) from a place of confidence and knowing that people care and that she matters.
