Iranian Revolution Awareness

My name is Pouyan Karbassi. My parents are from Iran and came to the US before the regime change back in 79. I’m first generation born here in the states, born and raised in Cleveland Ohio.

For those of you that don’t know, Iran is currently going through a revolution! 40+ days ago a 22 year old Iranian woman Mahsa Amini was arrested by the “morality police” in Iran for “improperly” wearing her hijab (Hair was showing a little). She was taken into custody and beaten so bad that she fell into a coma. She then died 2 days later.

Her death was the final straw and the people of Iran exploded and started protesting and fighting back against a brutal, evil, and sadistic regime that has oppressed them (women more than anyone) for the past 43 years! The government has shut down internet access and has killed over 200 people that have spoke out or protested against them which includes women and children as young as 7! They have a long history of raping prisoners, torturing them, and killing them while in custody.

they are fighting for basic human rights that we take for granted every single day! There is no charity that we can donate to for the government has shut it down and if they found out, would surely arrest and/or kill the people receiving any money if caught. The people are feeding off the public outcry across the world! Global protests have been happening everyday and it is giving my people the strength they need in this very hard time. I am starting this gofundme to purchase a billboard in the greater Cleveland area to promote awareness for everyone that doesn’t know and to help continue this fight. I personally will add on to the end goal to get a bigger billboard or to extend the date of said billboard and how long it stays up.

Please help in one of the only ways we can to give the Iranian people the strength they need to continue and win this fight! Be apart of something truly world changing and #beourvoice!
