We’re creating this GoFundMe during an incredibly difficult and unexpected time for our family.

Irakli Kalandia is a 32-year-old Georgian man, a husband and father to a six-year-old daughter. He emigrated to the United States about a year ago, and he has been working hard to build a stable, peaceful life for his family. Irakli has a valid work permit and his immigration paperwork is in order. He is a kind, calm, hardworking person who has done his best to do everything the right way.

Despite this, Irakli was recently detained in the United States by ICE. Our family is shocked and heartbroken, and we are now trying to navigate a complex immigration legal process as quickly and responsibly as possible.

Right now, Irakli urgently needs to fund experienced immigration legal representation so he has a fair chance to defend his case through the proper legal process. Unfortunately, immigration attorneys and court-related expenses are extremely costly, and the total is more than our family can afford on our own.

That’s why we’re asking for help.

The funds raised will go directly toward:

1. Hiring an experienced immigration attorney

2. Legal filings and court-related fees

3. Any other necessary costs to support his case
