Hello all!
I have come to my dear family, friends, and acquaintances at this time for some reassured guidance and support as I embark on the next chapter of my life. As some of you already know, I recently found out some terrific news that I have been accepted into the College of Nursing and Health Innovation at Arizona State University and will advance into the Traditional Pre-licensure Nursing Program for spring of 2015. The acceptance into the program was competitive and based upon students who showed outstanding scores on their nursing entrance exam combined with academic excellence as a reflection of their pre-requisite courses. I feel so humbled and blessed to have made it thus far and am eager to begin learning the skills necessary to care for others. I have done much to prepare for the added fees of the program such as picked up extra shifts at work, began applying for scholarships, searched for the cheapest version of my text books, accepted all financial aid awarded to me, and applied for student loans. However, with everything I have done up to this point, I have still fallen about $3,000 short of what I need to cover the cost of tuition, uniforms, equipment, and textbooks. That number has left me feeling a bit nervous about how I am going to come up with the remaining funds in time to advance into my program. I would love nothing more than to continue my education and pursue my dream of becoming a nurse. I realize this time of year is a bit tight on anyone’s wallet with the holidays around the corner but whatever small amount you are able to donate, or any encouraging words you may have for me, will certainly not go unnoticed. I am excited to be able to serve my community in the future and pay it forward once I have the means to do so. Thank you again for taking the time to help me out as I begin the most crucial stage in my educational career.
Sincerely,
Sarah
