HELP WENDY FIGHT WITH IPT TREATMENT
Hello, my name is Wendy. I never thought I’d be here writing something like this, but life has taken me on a journey I never expected. I have been diagnosed with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), a serious form of liver cancer. It has brought me unimaginable challenges—pain, exhaustion, and uncertainty—but also a deep will to keep fighting for my life, my family, and the people I love.
For those who don’t know, HCC is one of the most aggressive types of cancer. It affects the liver, which is one of the body’s most important organs. Because of its location and how fast it can spread, treatment options are often limited and very harsh on the body. Traditional chemotherapy can be extremely difficult for patients like me because it doesn’t just attack the cancer—it also weakens the rest of the body.
That’s why I am turning to Insulin Potentiation Therapy (IPT). IPT is a gentler, targeted form of cancer treatment. Doctors use a small amount of insulin to temporarily lower blood sugar levels, which makes cancer cells more vulnerable and “hungry.” Then, a very low dose of chemotherapy is introduced. Because cancer cells are more sensitive in this state, they absorb the medicine faster and more directly, while healthy cells are less affected. This means the chemo can do its job with fewer side effects like hair loss, nausea, or extreme fatigue.
Unfortunately, IPT is not covered by insurance, and the cost of this treatment is overwhelming for me to take on alone. Each session is expensive, and multiple sessions are often needed. On top of that, there are ongoing medical expenses, transportation, and basic living costs while I’m unable to work as much as I used to.
I am asking for help because I want the chance to fight this.
