IPAD's for ICU

First of all I want to thank God for all his blessings. Second I want to thank everyone that donated, shared or prayed for my IPads for ICU fundraiser, I excited to say that I surpassed my goal and next week will be presenting Northside Hospital Forsyth with a check for $8000.00 to purchase 25 IPads to be placed in the ICU and on other floors that need them. GOD has truly blessed me with my recovery and allowing me to be able to give back to the patients of the ICU, this will help so many with their recoveries, being able to stay in contact with their family members anytime they want to during their stay in the ICU. Again Thank You from the bottom of my heart.


Several months ago, at the end of June, My wife and I were infected with the Virus, although we both had major symptoms mine were worse than hers.  On July 6, 2020, my wife took me to the Emergency Room at Northside Forsyth Hospital in Cumming, GA.  I remember them checking me in and taking me back to a room. (My wife and family were not allowed to enter the hospital to be with me. )  The next thing I remember was waking up on July 20, 2020 and was in the ICU.  During the time I was there I was found to be positive for virus,  my oxygen levels continued to drop. My wife would call the hospital several times a day to check on my condition.  Once my oxygen level dropped to 80% the doctors decided to place me on a paralytic drug and put me on a ventilator to breath for me.  Over a period of 7 days the doctors tried to remove me from the ventilator three different times until they were successful in doing so.  When I came too the ICU nurse came in with a IPad and asked would I like to facetime with my wife.  I must say that she was the most beautiful sight I had seen in a while.  I know that if my wife had been allowed, she would have been camped out at the hospital during my stay.  There are 24 rooms on the ICU floor and they only had 2 IPads for the entire floor.  Several times when I wanted to call my wife there was no IPad available.  It is my goal to provide 22 new IPads to Northside Forsyth ICU floor so that there is one for every room and no patient will have to wait to call a family member when every they want to or need to.  My wife was able to be on facetime with me several times when the Doctors would come in and that really helped her to know what was going on. 

 

I am trying to raise $7233.60 to purchase the 22 IPads needed to completely furnish the 24 rooms in the ICU with IPads.  Please help me to help the patients of the ICU stay in contact with their loved ones and have a speedy recovery.
