Hi, my name is Tim Johnson and I serve as pastor for the Wapello Methodist Church in Wapello, IA. I have an incredible opportunity to travel to Israel and Jordan in November 2023 with a ministry group I have been involved with.

My wife and I have been married for nearly 23 years and have been blessed with an incredible son.

I have been involved with various ministries in Southeast Iowa for over fifteen years including serving as the point person for a local Salvation Army red bucket campaign (for seven years), a chaplain, leading a mission trip to Kentucky in 2022, serving as part of the leadership team in a nearby Celebrate Recovery, serving as pulpit supply for various churches and helping with various youth programs. Now as lead pastor, I am passionate about serving not only our congregation but also several of our care centers, lead of our local ministerial association, and encouraging/supporting other local pastors.

Currently, my wife and I have contributed $2,800 (all of our regular savings) and are planning to contribute what we can over the next several weeks. The total cost of the trip is $6,616. I am praying that we can reach the goal of $4,000.

The trip itself starts on November 18th and runs through December 1st. The itinerary includes visiting Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Masada, Jordan, and many places in between. I consider this an incredible opportunity to learn and grow in my faith, which will directly correspond to sharing the Gospel with SE Iowa!
