Iowa’s Ethics Bowl team is traveling to the 2025 Ethics Bowl national competition in North Carolina!
Ethics Bowl is a debate-style competition where students research, deliberate, and discuss cases to draw ethical conclusions to morally ambiguous questions. The case topics range from parental rights to political extremism to the ethics of ghosting. Ethics Bowl teaches the invaluable consciousness and critical thinking skills that everyone should strive to embody. Linked below are more resources about Ethics Bowl.
This season, our team took first place in Iowa's state competition. Most recently, we won our divisional playoff competition, allowing us to advance to nationals in mid-April for the fourth consecutive year. The national competition will take place at the University of North Carolina, and our team of students is responsible for funding entry and travel.
The estimated cost of the trip is $700 per student and there are 10+ students traveling. We request donations to assist our students and their families in these expenses.
This money will go toward financing entrance to Chapel Hill, allowing us to further our moral understanding of the world and discuss difficult topics alongside the 24 best teams across the country. Any amount would be a great help as we hope to lessen the financial burden that this would cause on our team’s families.
