Iowa Derecho Relief "Hoops for Hope"

My name is Tim Lary, sportscaster for a group of radio stations in Dubuque Iowa (AM 1370 KDTH, 92.9 KAT-FM, 97-3 THE ROCK and 101.1 the River).

On Monday August 31, I will be shooting 140 free throws, equaling the top estimated wind speed of the devastating derecho that tore a destructive path through Iowa on August 10th causing billions of dollars in damage, loss and hardship for thousands of Iowans. I'm a life long Iowan and hope you will consider helping out because the need is great. Your donation will be sent to Iowa Giving Crew #IAGivingCrew , based in Cedar Rapids who are assisting those in need of food, shelter, and clean-up.
I am taking on-air donations from listeners for each free throw I make that day, but also want to open up the fundraiser to all who would like to help hurting Iowans. Any amount you can afford to donate will be directly given to the massive relief effort. I plan to wrap up this fundraiser by Labor Day (Sept 7) so I can get it to the folks in need as soon as possible
