Ione Mendonca Memorial Fund

On Saturday, April 29, 2018 Ione Mendonca passed away after a long struggle with lung cancer. Initially diagnosed in 2017, she lost weight, lost hair, and suffered with complications yet she never lost her optimism and strength through this difficult journey.
Ione was a valued employee of the Visiting Nurse Service of New York for more than 20 years. She started in HR and then moved to IT. Those who worked with her loved her for her caring, kindness and her professionalism and dedication at work. Her co-worker Adam said, "Ione was a very compassionate, kind, loving and caring person. She will be deeply missed."
More than just a colleague, Ione was our beloved friend so we are setting up this memorial fund in her honor. All money raised will be given directly to her mother to help relieve any financial burdens on Ione's family. Ione was cherished by many and she will live on in our hearts and our warm memories of her.
