I am an International Obfuscate C Code Contest (IOCCC) winner (x7) since 1991. An intellectual exercise with no prize beyond bragging rights. Clear sign I believe that I have computer skills or just stubborn desire.

I've been looking for work as a computer programmer / software developer for 2,5+ years now after some health issues. I've worked through the bulk of my savings and now entering "fumes"- about 8 months left. That might not sound bad, but after only five interviews in 2,5 years you start to worry as you pay rent, food (Clicquot and I), operational needs.

I've never had trouble finding employment before. This drought of interest or simply offering an interview to speak is weird.

So comes The Ask, my initial goal of 20 000 CAD to carry me about 5 to 6 months to cover "life".
