We are creating Invoke the Fiery for this 2024 Burning Man !
Since 2 years we are working on this art and we have already half of the budget, so we need you to make the budget complete and make the art happening !
Here is our website, that we are trying to keep updated:
We will be building the piece at Boxshop in San Francisco from the beginning of July.
We still need help to raise the remainder $10 000, and your generous donations will go towards:
- Pay the local build space in San Francisco at the Boxshop
- Procurement of generator for on playa electric use for lighting, sound, etc.
- Transport of Invoke the Fiery art installation from San Francisco to Black Rock City
- Purchasing lights, for safety and for an aesthetic matter. Red light glowing from inside.
- Obtaining speakers and sound proofer system to make a ritual sound athmosphere
- Building the bell, the bell's system and the bowls
The money we had has been spent on contracting the 15 feet arch metal frame fabrication and precut.
A brief description of the piece :
“A ritual 15-foot metal portal adorned with spiderweb patterns awaits. Enhanced by a lotus lace patterns’ circle, it guides participants on a transformative journey. At its heart, a suspended bell resonates with each passage under the arch. Illuminated by red light at night, it draws inspiration from Hindu Kali mythology. Participants get to shed their burdens and embrace renewal. Along the path, several metal bowls beckon. Participants can inscribe their burdens on stones before passing under the arch, accompanied by ritual sounds. A fire ritual, burning offerings on sheets, enriches the experience. Through these symbolic acts and immersive engagement, Invoke The Fiery becomes an invocation to change, urging passage and burden’s liberation.”
