A teacher in need of support struggling with disability

Hi! I’m a Special Education teacher and I have been working in the field of education for 23 years. In the last four years, I’ve been trying to figure out health issues that have affected my quality of life and ability to function. Just last year I was hospitalized twice and was close to dying.

I’m now on medical leave to take care of my medical needs, but my insurance has changed drastically in copays, and my bills have been stacking up in the last few years. I am also a single parent, so the bills and additional expenses of medical bills are affecting me financially.

I am an advocate for students who have disabilities, and now more than ever, I am learning about how you can suddenly be someone who has invisible disabilities and struggle to navigate getting the help and resources to help you.

I would appreciate help during this difficult period of my life to help me get my medical needs met and hopefully regain a sense of normalcy as soon as possible. Thank you if you have read this far… please consider helping me and sharing my story.
