(In)Visible: A Short Film Fundraiser
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Megan Cullen. I'm looking to raise money to complete filming on (In)Visible, a short film I've written. I am producing it, along with Oliver Dobson (who is also directing), and Gaby Richardson.
The film will follow Charlotte (played by myself) adapting to a life with a chronic illness. When an old
friend dies, she confronts feelings of grief, feeling like a burden on her family and feeling forgotten by society.
The short film will be shot around my hometown of Bolton, Greater Manchester to keep costs low. Our initial target of £200 will be spent on food and reimbursing crew and cast travelling to and from set over the 3 days of filming. Anything extra will be put towards submitting the completed short film to film festivals locally and around the world.
I am a disabled actor, training for 18 months at Jim Cartwright's Acting Classes (2022 - 2024) and represented by VisABLE People. This is such a personal project, as it is based on my own experiences and conversations around chronic illness and disability. I have noticed that over the years, representation in media is getting better when it comes to showing authentic disabled characters. However, there is a long way to go and therein lies the inspiration for writing the script and wanting to film it and share it.
As a thank you, anyone who donates will receive a special mention in the credits.
Many thanks,
Meg Cullen
Filming dates: 21st November, 26th November, 27th November 2024
