Invictus Challenge Day
Donation protected
Dear friends and family,
On August 13, 2018, Invictus Academy of Richmond will open its doors to 100 curious, ambitious 7th grade students. We are hoping to raise $3,475 for our students to participate in a Challenge Day on their very first day of school.
Challenge Day is a powerful, high- energy program in which youth and adult participants are guided through a series of experiential learning processes. The overall goals of the program are to increase personal power and self-esteem, to shift dangerous peer pressure to positive peer support and to eliminate the acceptability of teasing, violence and all forms of oppression. The Challenge Day Program is designed to unite the members of the school or community, while also successfully addressing issues of violence, teasing, social oppression, racism, harassment, conflict management, suicide, peer pressure, alcohol and drugs.
The concept is simple: Once a student's social and emotional needs are met, their grades go up and their overall life satisfaction improves. We see Challenge Day as a crucial first step of many toward meeting those needs. Thank you for any support you can provide to help bring this experience to our amazing students.
With gratitude,
The Invictus Team
