Investing in Val

Donation protected
Valerie Majors-Domingue is a kind, loving person who has a deep love of family, friends and her faith.  Anyone who is blessed to know her immediately recognizes her warmth and willingness to give completely of herself to those she loves, as well as any stray that may show up at her door!  Her house is filled with kids, dogs, cats and lots of love and laughter.

Valerie is a single mom of 4 children who until recently was working 3 part time jobs to make ends meet.  She was attending college completing her Master’s degree in History. She is a huge history buff and has a true passion for Texas History.   Until recently she was a busy mom juggling, kids, pets, work, school and time with family and friends.  What she would give to have that time back!

In mid- March while on spring break with her children in Fredricksburg, Tx Valerie had a seizure.  She was rushed via ambulance to a hospital in Fredricksburg where, after some diagnostic testing it was found that she had a brain tumor.  She was life flighted to St. David’s Medical Center in Austin and underwent brain surgery to remove as much of the tumor that was possible.  She recovered initially in ICU and then was transferred to a room until her discharge from the hospital. Three days after surgery she returned home, to Lumberton, TX to recover and await her biopsy results.

Valerie was diagnosed with a Grade 3 Anaplastic Astrocytoma, which is a rare malignant brain tumor.  She will endure many challenges that will require large sums of money.  Her neurosurgeon plans to do at least one more brain surgery and she will see an Oncologist soon, and anticipates chemotherapy and radiation.  Her future will include trips to Austin to follow up with her surgeon, as well as many trips to M. D. Anderson in Houston.  She will quickly incur a large bill for gas and hotel stays alone.

The ground transport to the initial hospital, the emergency helicopter flight, the surgery and ICU bill alone will be a challenge for Valerie to pay.   Along with these bills she will have numerous others to contend with.   To further complicate her situation, she is unable work and cannot drive at this time due to her seizure.   She needs our help!!

We understand there are so many tragic stories with many people facing challenges of their own.  This is Val’s story, and we the people who love her, want to do everything in our power to make it a long happy one.   So many have asked “how can we help?”  We have a way!  Please consider giving to this great cause.  We encourage all who read this to be as generous as you can.  We also ask that we keep your donation anonymous because knowing Val she will be compelled to personally thank each person that gives and we want her focusing on beating this thankless illness and experiencing a full recovery.  Please give whatever you are comfortable contributing.  There is no amount too big or too small.

Feel free to share this Go Fund Me post on your Facebook, Twitter or other social media. Tell your friends and family about this effort. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.
