My name is Amani Austin (she/her), and I love people, justice and data. My heart has always been deeply committed to advocating with community through youth development, educational equity, access to opportunity, racial justice and mental wellness for the last 12 years.

I am transitioning into the field of Research and Evaluation with a focus on racial equity. I am excited to be excited again after a long season of burnout. But I recognize I have much to learn about trusting my skills and lived experience to find a role that pays well, values my contribution and cultivates a supportive and inclusive culture.

 

In this season of discernment, I am focused on being deeply rooted in what is loving, authentic and makes room for rest. Much of this learning has challenged me to look inward and become more self-compassionate. This journey has brought me to 3 core beliefs that lovingly challenge me to pursue wholeness and healing.

 

I am asking my community and networks to invest in my leadership development and wellness journey as I learn to show up fully as myself, honor and embrace my own needs, and dive fully into a radical model of leadership that aligns with my “why.”
