Decolonizing Christianity Canada is a national grassroots movement that creates space for Indigenous, Black and POC persons to decolonize their faith, heal from internalized oppression and explore ways to dream and build new anti-oppressive realities together.

We have been gathering online monthly from across the country for about a year and a half. This month we are hosting our very first retreat! People are coming in from British Colombia, Alberta, Halifax, and Ontario. 

The objective of the retreat is to provide space for people to name, articulate and share their stories about race, the Christian faith and justice while taking time to engage in self and community care practices (i.e., community acupuncture, art-making, movement, etc).  

A lot, if not all, of our community members, are working through trauma that's held in their psyche and bodies as a result of their intersecting identities.  Some of those folks are still connected to institutional churches and others are not, mainly due to the ways that the institutional church has been complicit and participatory in oppression.

We need help to raise the last $5000 to help make this happen. All your donations will go directly to DCC and making this retreat the best it can be. Anything over and above the goal will go to help those in our community who need financial support to participate in the retreat.

$50: cover the cost travel for our elders/teachers 
$100: cover the cost of art/movement workshops during the retreat
$200: subsidize registration for those who have need
$500: cover the travel cost of our speaker for the weekend
$2000: cover the cost of our speaker for the weekend
$5000: cover all our expenses
