Invest in finishing Redfern

Hi Everybody,
I’m Kelli McGuffey and I’m working incredibly hard to establish the first black woman owned campground in Tennessee. I lost the love of ten lifetimes last November after a brief bout of aggressive liver cancer. Grant was an incredible person and partner and I miss him every moment. We intended to retire here this summer, but that wasn’t God’s plan. He was my best friend. Now I’m here, by myself on this 18 acres, trying to hold onto our dream and do something that really matters to my community.
Redfern is meant to be a sustainable campground, and farm. Our brand is glamping so we offer a full range of facilities to suit any camping skill level, from fully furnished Bell tents to hammock camping spots, we even have a tiny cabin available to rent right now. I’ve invested everything I have into creating this wonderful space. I’m doing everything I can to make this a safe space for peace and self reflection for marginalized communities who historically have not had safe and equitable access to outdoor spaces.
It is my intention to purchase a freeze dryer with the proceeds of this fundraiser. I plan on using it to create my own line of nutritious freeze dried meals and food products. I already own a full pressure canning set up so being able to also offer these freeze dried treats will help contribute to keeping income year round for me.
I’m seeking investment in my dreams and my future, and I dream so big, that I just need all the help I can get to pull this off. This is a big deal and a big dream. Please help me grow this place through the power of friendship and community.
