Invest in a TSU Tiger's Future

Hi everyone,

This honestly isn’t easy for me to write. I never thought I’d be in this position, but life has taken a few unexpected turns, and now I’m just trying to get back to school.

I am a student at Tennessee State, an incoming junior, majoring in public health / Nursing and I’ve been working hard to finish my degree. In May, on finals/move-out week, I had to have emergency surgery; it was sudden, and it took a toll on me, physically and emotionally. I spent weeks recovering, where I could not walk or was able to work at this time. Which meant I quickly fell behind on everything, and most importantly, tuition.

I've applied for several loans due to my age and little credit history I've been denied. My parents are contributing what they can, but they have two other children in college besides me, and 4 others who still rely on them at home. I've been working to pay off the emergency surgery I had in May, since my health insurance did not cover all of it.

Now I’m at a point where I might not be able to return to school this semester. That thought breaks my heart. I've come so far, and to have it slip away because of something out of my control is devastating to me. I’m not asking for much, just enough to help cover what I’ve fallen behind on so I can stay in school and keep pushing forward. If you can give, even a few dollars, it would mean the world to me.
