Hi all. For those who don't know me, my name is Dave. I'm a graduate student working on a Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health CounselIng at CTS, School of CounselIng. I'm also working on completing my MDiv at CTS at the same time.
I'm writing to ask if you would consider helping with a financial donation.
I hope you will at least continue reading this post and consider ways you might be willing and able to help. See further down in this post for more info about working.
PROBLEM
I know this doesn't sound critically important, but two times a year (December and Summer), I end up in desperate financial need with not enough money to make it to the next student loan dispersement. This summer is one of those occasions. I'm struggling to pay rent, utilities, and my summer internship costs and my next loan dispersement won't come thru until September.
The rest of the year is also a struggle. Unpaid internships and paying for the cost of my own required personal counseling, on top of the cost of classes and living expenses is just to difficult to manage by myself.
ONE WAY TO HELP
I'm asking for your help and financial support so that I can make it through the summer, work toward finishing graduate school, and become a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor.

WORK
I have been working off and on throughout the year and would willingly work again if I could find a viable flexible job. I am currently looking for a job that fits around my class and internship schedule, which only allows 20-25 hours during the summer, and probably 10-15 hours when fall classes begin.

ULTIMATE GOAL
I have a year and a half to go until I graduate and then the plan is to go into paid residency somewhere, work toward my full licensure, and open my own private counseling practice. I also hope to develop channels through the church, through the arts community, and through other non-profits that will provide a path to work with lower income clients, in addition to my private practice.
I love helping people who are struggling with difficult life situations and I love the training I receive at CTS to be able to do that
More and more people are struggling with their mental health and there is a shortage of mental health counselors to help them. I want to help fill that gap, but I can't do that if I can't finish school.
Will you consider supporting me? It's not only an investment in me, but also an investment in the fight to provide more accessible and available mental health care in Indiana?
