Invasive Plant Patrol Kayak

Donation protected
The Little Ossipee Lake Association invites you to help support the ongoing monitoring of potential invasive species in the lake. Your donation will help to purchase a clear kayak which will be used by the volunteers on the Invasive Plant Patrol (IPP) team.

As you may have heard, last summer Little Ossipee Lake was classified as a high-risk lake for invasive species by the Maine DEP. As a result, the Lake Association is dedicated to being even more vigilant at surveying the lake for unwelcome plants and animals. The Crystal Explorer Kayak will help the IPP team accurately and efficiently monitor the lake.

By then end of summer 2018, the IPP team completed a full lake survey and no invasive species were detected. (Hooray!) But the survey took many long hours of peering into a small 'scope' to see deep down to the lake floor. The clear kayak will allow for an expanded view below the surface water, making monitoring much more efficient.

The IPP team is an all-volunteer team made up of dedicated lake residents. Please consider a donation to help them monitor the lake for everyone's benefit.
