I went to my family doctor last week for a lump that I have had in my right breast. It took a while for me to get insurance. He immediately scheduled a mammogram and sonogram for me. I went for the test and had to see the Dr. Of Radiology immediately. He showed me the scans and told me I have a very invasive and aggressive type of breast cancer. Which I could clearly see on the scans. It looked like tiny spiders with legs scattered around this dark mass. He stated to me that if I were his daughter he would have me at Johns Hopkins by the end of the day. Not practical in my situation as I'm 3 hours from Maryland. So, I opted for a biopsy to be done locally. The biopsy doctor called me from his home to give me the results. As the Dr. Of radiology stated it is a very invasive and aggressive cancer. Everything is moving really fast, I'm seeing a surgeon this week. My appointment was scheduled for Thursday of this week, yet after the biopsy results they are trying to move it up sooner than Thursday. I will know more later this week. However, travel expenses etc can get very costly. It was recommended that I go to Fox Chase in Philadelphia via my insurance company. That is still 2.5 hours away from my home. Any help will be greatly appreciated, as I have been unable to work due to feeling dizzy and very ill, for the past several months. Thank you for any and all help.
