Inundaciones en Haridwar India Kits de Comida

Queridos donantes,

me llamo Maria Guadalupe Mora soy fundadora de la ONG Wise Bridge Trust en Rishikesh, norte de India. Trabajamos con la comunidad tribal Van Gujjar dando a acceso a la educación a niños entre 4 y 15 años que viven en zonas remotas en el bosque. Pido ayuda para hacer frente a los problemas de seguridad alimentaria que sufren muchas familias como resultado de las inundaciones , la ayuda sera en forma de paquetes de alimentos. Muchas familias viven cerca del rio Ganges y debido a las lluvias torrenciales que azotan estos días el norte de India, en una semana ha llovido lo que en otros años sucede en un mes no dejando tiempo a las familias para prepararse. Los ríos Ganges y Yamuna se han desbordado en zonas llanas dejando sumergidos bajo el agua muchos asentamientos donde residen las familias de nuestros alumnos.

Se han identificado a 100 familias de la comunidad Van Gujjar que necesitan ayuda urgente para alimentos. Alrededor de 250 familias más también perdieron su cosecha de forraje para los búfalos durante la inundación ( su fuente de ingresos es la venta de leche u derivados del búfalo gojiri)

Los fondos van destinados a proporcionar kits de emergencia por valor de 3.000 rupias (34 euros) por familia, e incluirán los siguientes productos para un mes de ayuda alimentaria

1. Harina – 5 kgs

2. Lentejas – 2 kgs

3. Azucar – 2 kgs

4. Sal – ½ kg

5. Te – ½ kg

6. Aceite – 1 litre

7. Masalas – Curcuma, Red Chilli – 100 gms

8. Jabón – 2

9. Utensilios para cocinar.

10. Kit básico medico

Esperamos poder recibir ayuda lo antes posible para garantizar que las familias afectadas puedan resistir el impacto económico de la inundación y desarrollar su capacidad de recuperación para ganarse la vida de forma sostenible en los próximos meses.

Dear donors,

my name is Maria Guadalupe Mora and I am the founder of the NGO Wise Bridge Trust in Haridwar, North India. We work with the Van Gujjar tribal community providing access to education to children between 4 and 15 years old living in remote forest areas. I am asking for help to address the food security problems that many families are facing as a result of the floods, the help will be in the form of food parcels. Many families live near the Ganges River and due to the torrential rains that are hitting northern India these days, in one week it has rained what in other years happens in a month leaving no time for families to prepare. The Ganges and Yamuna rivers have overflowed in flat areas, leaving many settlements where the families of our students live submerged under water.

100 families from the Van Gujjar community have been identified as in need of urgent food aid. About 250 other families also lost their buffalo fodder crop during the flood (their source of income is the sale of milk and gojiri buffalo derivatives).

The funds are intended to provide emergency kits worth Rp. 3,000 ('34) per family, and will include the following items for one month's food assistance

1. Flour - 5 kgs

2. Lentils - 2 kgs

3. Sugar - 2 kgs

4. Salt - ½ kg

5. Tea - ½ kg

6. Oil - 1 liter

7. Masalas - Curcuma, Red Chilli - 100 gms

8. Soap - 2

9. Utensils for cook

10. Basic medical kit.

We hope to receive help as soon as possible to ensure that the affected families can withstand the economic impact of the flood and build their resilience to make a sustainable livelihood in the coming months.
