Saving American Democracy with New Self-Governance Solutions

Hi, my name is Montie Rainey. I am a university educated retiree living in Smalltown, USA who decided that the best way I could help make ours a better world was by working to save our representative democracy from the inevitable collapse that conventional political wisdom (CPW) says awaits not just the United States, but eventually all democracies.
It has taken me well over a decade to realize that to "save" our republic, our society must take the logical next evolutionary step in the way we govern ourselves. Specifically, from the way we ARE using our national legislative election process (NLEP) to elect our 535 members of Congress—to the way we SHOULD be using our it.
To take that next step, our political scientists will have to create a radically new academic discipline based on the concept of “effective” S-G—working title: the study of Effective Self-Governance Theories, Models and Strategies. Its major focus: teaching our left- and right-of-center (LOC/ROC) voters how to begin using a "normative" self-governance (S-G) "strategy" which will enable them to begin keeping their U.S. House and Senate continually replenished with a steady supply of a modern democracy's version of Philosopher Kings and Queens (PKQs).
Not elitist aristocrats, of course, but exceptional, principled Americans—liberals, conservatives, Democrats, Republicans, etc. who, unlike the typical self-serving, politically ambitious, etc. "politician" our LOC and ROC voters keep electing to Congress election after election:
- will have zero (relatively speaking) self-serving, politically ambitious or power-hungry bones in their bodies,
- will understand going in that they will only be serving a “few” years as a one-time civic duty, because both they and the voters will understand how easily political power, especially at the national legislative level, can corrupt even the best of us.
Because the idea of America's voters using a normative S-G strategy to elect their members of Congress is, by definition, a paradigm shifting, status quo-disrupting, course-of-history-changing idea—which, fyi, history says status quo establishments are loath to acknowledge, much less accept—convincing even a small but critical mass of our political academics that they can and SHOULD develop this new field of study will be a Herculean task.
Ironically, the fastest way to convince (or pressure) our political academics to develop this new body of knowledge is by undertaking a national awareness and education campaign. One whose “mission” is making every American old enough to have a political opinion “fluent” in the language of Effective S-G.
When enough of our society learns, via this national advertising campaign, what PKQ-caliber legislators are and understands how our LOC and ROC voters can easily start keeping our national legislature overflowing with them, a “new self-governance knowledge” spark will be ignited that cannot be extinguished.
Raising enough seed money to ignite that new S-G knowledge spark is what this GoFundMe campaign is about.
