Into the Thicket - Post-Production

Hello friends, family, & colleagues!

We are back, humbly asking for just a little bit more help to push our film through post-production. We incurred quite a few more production costs than we had originally anticipated and are unfortunately struggling to cover post-production expenses. We would hate to see the film get stuck in post purgatory! Believe me, we are doing everything in our power to pull those funds but any little contribution you can make would make a HUGE difference (even if it may seem like an insignificant amount to you). 

All donations will be going straight towards paying our extraordinary post-production team. For those unfamiliar with the post-production process, our film footage has booked a luxurious stay in beautiful Roma w/ our amazing editor, Emanuele Bonomi. Then it will travel once more around the world to our incredible composer in the UK, Joanna Karselis & post-sound mixer in Mexico, Joel Argüelles. Finally, it will settle back down in LA to get a bona fide makeover by our talented colorist, Max Drenckpohl.

We couldn't have made this film without the help of all of our incredible donors. Your support allowed us to make the best film we could have possibly made & let me tell you, the proof is in the pudding...

For those of you who may be new around here, a little introduction:

We are Cosmica Productions, a queer female-led production company invested in empowering marginalized voices. We are fundraising for our most recent short film, INTO THE THICKET, a dark-leaved exploration of magic and self.

INTO THE THICKET tells the story of a lonely lost young woman who comes from a broken home (absent father, abusive mother). As she tries to desperately cope with the need for a maternal love and presence in her life, she encounters a mysterious woman in the woods who embraces her and fills the absence in her heart. As time progresses, we learn that there’s more to this lady in the woods than meets the eye.

Our proof of concept is meant to be merely a glimpse into our protagonist's world. Our mission is to build enough magic & mystery to set the stage and be the springboard for the feature that is to come.
