Hi, my name is Ivy. I am 14 and I am a Girl Guide in Frome. I am one of 16 Girl Guides selected from across the South West of England to travel to India in August 2026.

The purpose of this trip is to take part in the Worldwide Association of Girl Guides Brave Space 2026 at the Sangam World Centre . In this programme I will learn how to develop my leadership skills in today's world. As part of this, I will participate in a Community Action Project working with a local period poverty charity.

At Sangam I will also get the opportunity to learn about the traditions of India and visit the city of Pune. For the final few days I will travel to New Dehli, Agra and Jaipur, to sightsee before heading home.

This is an amazing opportunity for me to learn about a different culture, develop my leadership skills and support a valuable charity. I am fundraising to help meet the cost of this two week trip (£3600). This includes all travel, accommodation, food, insurance, kit and uniform.

Update

I have raised over £3000 so far through a Go Fund Me page, applying for grants, running a chocolate bingo night, selling cakes and selling my art (please check out my Instagram page - frayed by Ivy for info).
