The statistics are not just numbers; they are a moral emergency:

20,000 Dogs Annually: Every year, an estimated 20,000 dogs are picked up dead or from our city streets. This is a staggering, unacceptable loss of life that reflects a systemic breakdown. This is not even counting the lives terminated in the shelter system.

30,000 Wandering Souls: On any given day, an estimated 30,000 homeless / stray dogs are wandering our streets. They are starved, injured, unprotected, and multiplying the problem, creating a relentless cycle of suffering that cripples our community.

We cannot stand by while this silent tragedy continues. The World Animal Awareness Society (WA2S) is dedicated to working with the boots on the ground that help to interrupt this cycle of death.

We are raising money to fund immediate, targeted, and life-saving operations that focus on rescue, medical intervention, and high-volume sterilization that we are documenting in the series Unleashed: Dogs of San Antonio
