International Clinical Experience in Macha Zambia

This January, I will have the opportunity to participate in a three-week clinical emersion experience working at the Macha Mission Hospital in Zambia, Africa. My school, Messiah University, partners with a local rural hospital to offer us an international clinical experience to broaden our knowledge and experiences.

A group of about 25 nursing students will work alongside local Macha nursing students to learn from and with each other. We will be participating in clinical experiences of many kinds ranging from local clinics to a more traditional hospital setting in the pediatric, maternity, male, and female wards. We will also be able to participate in some tourist attractions, including visiting Victoria Falls and attending an overnight safari.

In our senior year of the nursing program at Messiah University, students are allowed to participate in a local community clinical in the city of Harrisburg or have an international experience in Macha, Zambia. My love for international travel, different people groups and new learning experiences have drawn me to this decision. It would be a true blessing to be able to gain these experiences.

Participating in this once-in-a-lifetime educational opportunity brings me here, asking for your help to support me on this journey! The trip total is $4,500, but I am asking for $4,000, excluding the tourist part of the trip costs. Any amount of financial support would be much appreciated. Prayers for safety, health, team cohesiveness, and positive learning experiences would be a blessing.
