International Australian Wildlife Bushfire Appeal
0% complete
$6,760 raised of $100K AUD
94 donations
I have put this Go Fund Me together to create one central rallying point for the world to support Australia's native animals.
Your donation will be distributed to 16 organisations working in this space.
Australia's native wildlife is burning alive.

The scale of this devastation is so large that an estimated 30% of Australia's entire koala population was killed in the NSW fires alone.
This a global bushfire appeal for Australia's native animals. Our native animals need help from all corners of the globe.
We can't do this on our own. Please donate.
Why Should You Donate to This Go Fund Me?
Your money will go to 16 organisations across the country (according to the distribution below).
Whilst we have many, many state and local grass-root community groups doing wonderful work to support the victims of these devastating fires (koalas, skinks, lizards, birds, kangaroos, emus) none of them is large enough to support the national work that needs to be done to help these animals recover.
I tried to donate to a national entity, but even they are only focussed on one state (NSW).
I wanted my money to have an impact right across the country (not just in one state) but I couldn't find a single national appeal to do this. So I have started one on Go Fund Me that will allocate your donation to 16 organisations across the country in the following way.
State-based wildlife rescue services
- 10% of your donation will go to Wildlife Victoria
- 10% of your donation will go to WIRES New South Wales

- 2.5% of your donation will go to Wildcare South East Queensland (QLD)
- 2.5% of your donation will go to Tweed Valley Wildlife Carers (NSW)
WHY IS AUSTRALIA BURNING?
Australia's national emblems are burning.
Climate change is drying-out our continent. Our entire country is burning, from Western Australia to South Australia to Tasmania to Queensland, to NSW and of course to Victoria.
Bushfires are now burning for months on end (not weeks, or days like they used to).
Yet, our Government is so very weak that our own prime minister decided this was an appropriate time to take a holiday to Hawaii.
With such a weak Australia Government (with leaders that still deny climate change, or is the will of God) what hope do our native animals have?
About Me
My name is Will Egan, I work for Ausmed (a healthcare education company) in Melbourne Australia. I care deeply about the environment, and this is the only way I can think to have a positive impact on it at such a time of need. I aim to administer the distribution of these donations and publish the donation receipts by the end of February 2020. Once the fundraiser has ceased.
