I need help: Insurance won’t cover arm surgery

Hello,

My entire life I have never encountered a problem I could not overcome. My dad once told me, “you can make it happen, or you can make an excuse.” I have always made it happen. I can not make it happen this time.

As some of you know, I left Louisiana on December 31 to start a new life and my dream job in Fort Myers, Florida. I found a beautiful home, signed the lease and was on my way. This move, along with leaving behind my friends and family, cost me my life savings of over $10,000 (even emptying my stock portfolios to make it happen.) I had roughly $2k to my name upon my arrival to Florida, but that’s ok, I was to start my new job on January 3 and all would be well.

On January 1 I was in a very serious motocross accident. My humeral head was completely broken off of my humerus and dislocated and lodged down my arm. My foot was also broken in many places along with muscular and internal damage. This requires immediate surgery to repair, a surgery that I do not have money for. As I write this, 10 days after the accident and still awaiting surgery and with the ball of my shoulder still lodged in my arm and in immense pain, I am begging for help. I can not begin the healing process until I have surgery, and I can not have the surgery without help.

Those of you that know me know I would NEVER ask unless I were truly out of options and it is very hard for me to type this. I am desperate and any thing you can donate will help. If you can not help, please share this. Due to a loophole, my “full coverage” health insurance is only paying a very small portion and I’m left to pay a huge amount in medical expenses out of pocket that must be paid before the surgery.
