Our dear Rachel is a 27 year old wonderful responsible mom who works full time but is struggling with keeping her Type 1 Diabetes under control because she can not afford her insulin pumps even though she has health insurance. Below in her words is what she is dealing with at this time. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated. 

From Rachel: I have been type 1 diabetic for 10 long years now. Due to my health insurance with a high deductible I can’t afford to get my insulin pumps anymore so I am back to daily multiple injections after being on a pump for 8 years; which is very scary. My first order of pumps (3 month supply) will be around $1,500 until I meet my deductible of $2,500. Even after I meet the deductible the price is still expensive and barely affordable. This also does not include costs of insulin or my Dexcom (continuous glucose monitor). With a pump I am continuously getting insulin and able to adjust as needed when highs or lows happen. The pump I use is tubeless/waterproof.. makes my life with a rambunctious 3 year old easier. It is difficult for me to stay healthy with injections; I am constantly fighting high sugars which are detrimental for my health. Any and all help is greatly appreciated!!!
