Who we are:
Our team members include Tony Guzman, professor of music (jazz and music education) at Luther College, Michael K. Smith, professor of music (low brass) at Luther College, and Benjamin Yates, professor of music (low brass) at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
Why we're fundraising:
We are collecting donations to purchase and repair quality used band and orchestra instruments for community music programs in the Dominican Republic that are in need of basic supplies.
We will deliver the instruments during the first week of August 2021. We will also be teaching and performing with the Banda de Conciertos de Moca (Moca Youth Concert Band) and Orquesta Sinfónica Juvenil de La Vega (La Vega Youth Symphony Orchestra).
100% of all donations received will go towards purchasing and repairing instruments. No donated funds will be used for travel expenses, lodging, or meals.
