Calling all friends, dive buddies and dive monsters from around the world! Lets all help Santi become a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor!!

Santi is an absolute legend underwater.

Remember how she helped make your holiday unforgettable or opened your eyes to incredible sea life you never knew existed? Or how she patiently waited for you to take that perfect picture? How she shared her air with you, giving you a precious minute longer underwater or held your hand when you were scared. Or even saved your life. (You know who you are!)
Santi has been an amazing Divemaster for eight years now, working in Semporna and Mabul Island, Malaysia and most recently on Malapascua Island, Philippines.

And for the past eight years she has struggled to save the $3,000 USD necessary to pay for the Instructor course.

I’m calling everyone to donate whatever they can. Enjoy some good karma and help change Santi’s life!
Local Divemasters will typically only make between $150-$300 a month, diving four times a day. Everyday. And going on for weeks without breaks. Can you even imagine?

By helping Santi become an instructor you’re also helping the next generation of scuba divers. She will teach them to become safe and environmentally conscious divers. Being a local she can keep inspiring tourist and locals alike to respect and save our oceans. Educating the community over the damages of shark finning, dynamite fishing and polluting our oceans

Santi has rescued sharks, turtles and even a baby dolphin that was tangled in a net. She has also picked up tons of polluting garbage and plastic bags off the seafloor for years.

She also promises to share daily updates of her journey while completing the Instructor Development Course! Ask her any questions!
Here is a little background about the course:
Sea Explorers is organizing an IDC (Instructor Development Course) on Malapascua Island from July 14th – 30th.

The PADI IDC consists of two parts:
The Assistant Instructor Course and the Open Water Scuba Instructor program (OWSI).

Successfully completing the whole IDC program will qualify her to attend the PADI Instructor Examination (IE).

The Instructor Examination is a two-day evaluative program that will test her teaching ability, diving knowledge, skill level and understanding of the PADI system.
Regardless of whether or not you are able to give financially at this time, please share this so others can also hear her story and help.

Donations are accepted of any size, currency and from anywhere around the world!

Give up your morning coffee and send that $5 to help change someone’s life.
Hey I'm Gail and I met Santi back in 2010 as we were working together on Mabul Island and we quickly became fast friends. I’ve been trying for years to get her to take the PADI Instructor course. Not only has she been facing financial and language hardships but being a woman in a male dominated sport, makes it even harder to get ahead.

I’ve set up this GoFundMe page with the hope, that all of us together can improve her living conditions and life. (As Instructors get paid more!)

Thank you so much everyone!

Lets Help Santi :)
