Inspiring musician for 60 years needs support
Donation protected
The friends and bandmates of Declan Mulligan are reaching out on his behalf for support with medical expenses. After a storied 60-year career making music, Declan, now 83, suffers from Parkinson's and a recent series of strokes, leaving him unable to play the music that he loves. Declan's family urgently needs help to provide him in-home care, as his condition requires around-the-clock medical assistance.
Declan is an Irish rock musician, singer, and songwriter, best known as a guitarist and harmonica player for the American rock band The Beau Brummels. One of Declan's most memorable contributions with the band was the harmonica opening of the hit single Laugh, Laugh (video attached), which reached the Billboard Magazine Top 20 in February 1965. In the early 70s he played in "The Black Velvet Band", a well-known and popular group in the San Francisco Bay Area, and in 1975 reunited with the Beau Brummels for a reunion album. In 1981, Mulligan released an independent single, "Back To Life" b/w "Native Son", a session produced by Vince Welnick of The Tubes and The Grateful Dead.
Declan is known by his friends and bandmates for his passionate approach to music, performing, and songwriting, and his indomitable sense of humor. His entire life has been dedicated to making music and delivering enjoyable performances for audiences in the Bay Area and beyond.
