We are Dick Keenan and Ryan Packard

We are raising money for the Malawi Children's Village in southern Malawi, Africa.
What the money is for: to build 10 new homes for orphans and other vulnerable children and to bring 15 laptop computers for all the teachers at MCV's Gracious Secondary School to assist them in teaching their students.
Our timing: we need to raise the funds by March 1, 2017. We leave for Malawi on March 9.
Why we are inspired to ask for your help:
"Love begins at home" - Mother Teresa
"Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world." - Nelson Mandela
Home and education are at the core of the mission of the Malawi Children's Village. This program was organized by Peace Corp volunteers who had served in Malawi and saw a critical need to care for and educate the thousands of children who have lost their parents to the epidemic of HIV/AIDS that swept across Africa in the 1990s and continues to afflict families.
Our friends, Tom and Ruth Nighswander from Alaska, have been instrumental in setting up and funding MCV. Their spirit and example have inspired Ryan and me to join them in a service project in Malawi to build one new home, raise funds for nine more homes and also bring new laptop teachers for all the MCV teachers to help them create lesson plans, teach and educate their students to new and exciting ideas.
