The Inspiration Studios Community Support Fund is designed to support members of our beloved pole and aerial community who are facing financial hardship because of COVID-19. We recognize that this virus, and the measures that have been enacted to protect the health of the wider community, have placed some of our friends in precarious financial positions, with income streams vanishing entirely due to loss of work, health issues, or other circumstances.
Currently, many regions of the Bay Area are under shelter-in-place mandates through April 7. Due to the nature of the virus, it is hard to say how long such measures may last, and the impacts of these measures will likely be felt long past that date.
We ask those who can afford to do so for their support during this time. In the interests of transparency, the studio will be providing its staff with full pay through April 7. We share this because it would be unfair to ask you to donate what you can without first knowing that we are doing the same ourselves.
During this difficult and stressful time, let’s remember that we can show up for each other, and that we are not alone. This community is the most fiercely compassionate and generous community we know, and we are so grateful for each and every one of you.
With love,
Renee and the Inspiration Studios team
Where will my donation go?
All donations will be redistributed to the members of our community in need of financial support during this time who have applied for funds. We will begin allocation as soon as possible once funds come in.
Inspiration Studios will make the final determination on how to share funds amongst those who apply, and will not keep any portion of the received donations.
Who is eligible to request aid from the Inspiration Studios Community Support Fund?
Anyone amongst our community is welcome to ask for help. Anyone requesting aid from the Community Support Fund will need to fill out an application specifying their circumstances and their requested support amount. The application can be found here.
Being in need of assistance is not a personal failure - we live in an unequal society where many of us lack safety nets. There is no ask that is too big or too small, and we would like to emphasize that no one will ever be shamed for asking for the help they need.
While we cannot guarantee to be able to fully fund everyone’s request, we will do our best to meet as many needs as possible. Requests will be evaluated in the order they are received.
I don’t have extra financial resources but would like to help out in other ways.
Even if you do not have extra cash to part with, you can still help out the community in other ways!
We are organizing a neighborhood aid network to make it easier for neighbors to help neighbors. In a time where social distancing might make us feel more alone, this can be one way to help us remember that we’re still all here for each other. Perhaps you can help someone who is elderly or immunocompromised pick up necessary groceries. Or maybe you can provide support for parents needing childcare and educational help. There are likely people in your area who would appreciate various acts of kindness and support during these next few weeks.
Here is a form where you can list what you have to offer. Any information you provide will be uploaded onto a public non-editable spreadsheet so others can view and reach out directly to you for support. Please also check the requests spreadsheet to see if you can directly and immediately help out someone who has made a request! If you have a need that appears on this sheet, go ahead and reach out to the person listed.
If you have a need not covered by the above offerings spreadsheet, here is a form where you can fill out what assistance you would like to request. All received requests will be uploaded onto a public spreadsheet. If you would prefer to not have your name and contact information listed publicly, email us with your request and we can add it to the sheet for you anonymously.
Lastly, don’t forget that spreading the word of these resources can be a big help in and of itself. The more people who are a part of this network, the more effective it will be.
